Another American one, Blade - the series. It was so much better than the movies, and the actor that played Blade was also so much better than Wesley Snipes. When they found out that a second series wasn't going to be commissioned, they tacked on another episode to try and tie up all the loose ends, but it still ended on a cliff-hanger.
Another one I liked again about a vampire was Moonlight, that was ended after 1 run. The problem is it's all about the ratings - so that even excellent shows get cast by the wayside for want of a better time slot - they're put on opposite a soap or an established show or an 'important' sport show - and that's it. It's a shame that they can't accurately count how many people record shows and take that into consideration too.
Surely it would be quicker to list shows that DID conclude properly? Most US series get cancelled before the team behind them have a chance to tie them up. Flash Forward. A sort of ending, but it had all been geared to go into another series and was cancelled. Oh and that thing about the sea creatures and it ended with mass flooding and people being stranded up a church spire.
Yes i can, my favourite of all US Drama's "Deadwood"! It would be a perfect cover, particularly as the tail knew he was blown. Why would he have reacted so violently if it was only a clearance job?
