I've looked in the control panel and there is no icon for touch pad and I've looked in the mouse settings without finding any options to change the settings for the touch pad?
Any ideas? If I didn't reply to you within 48 hours , please send me a PM. Drivers did install and it displayed the touchpad icon in the notification area but I still have no ability to change any of the touchpad settings when I go into properties? It just displays options for the USB mouse I have plugged in. Posted 01 April - PM. Under the search returns above, select " Change mouse settings ". The " Mouse Properties " box will appear.
Select the " Device Settings " tab and click on the " Settings " button. Once you log in again, open Control Panel and go to Mouse settings. The Synaptics tab will be happily sitting there.
If none of the methods mentioned above bring back the Synaptics tab, install Synaptics app from the Microsoft store. Once installed, launch it and you will be able to modify its settings. To quickly access the TouchPad settings, you can put its shortcut icon in the taskbar.
Go to the last tab, i. TouchPad or ClickPad. While the TouchPad still works even if its control panel is missing, nobody wants to lose on the extra features and customizations offered by Synaptics. We hope the above methods resolved your issue and you were able to get back the Synaptics TouchPad or ClickPad settings. Next up: Is your Windows laptop running low on storage? Easy to follow. No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn't match my screen. Incorrect instructions. Too technical. Not enough information. Not enough pictures. Any additional feedback?
